Bishop Mwamba was born in Mansa, Zambia and educated in America, Zambia and England. He received his degrees in law, theology and social anthropology from the University of Zambia and Oxford, England respectively.

2006 — First publication of Bishop Mwamba’s book Dancing Sermons. Bishop Mwamba also featured in Alexander McCall Smith’s publication 'Blue Shoes and Happiness'.

2004 — Trevor Mwamba elected Bishop of Botswana. Trevor Mwamba featured in Alexander McCall Smith’s publication In the 'Company of Cheerful Ladies'.

Trevor Mwamba preached at the Thanksgiving Service at the Holy Cross Cathedral, Lusaka, Zambia celebrating Dr. Kenneth Kaunda’s 80th birthday, the first President of Zambia, and at the Interdenominational Service commemorating Zambia’s 40th anniversary of independence at which Presidents Kaunda, Chiluba and the incumbent Mwanawasa attended.

2005 — Bishop Trevor Mwamba consecrated Bishop of Botswana. The Archbishop of Canterbury, appointed Bishop Mwamba as commissioner on the Anglican- Lutheran International Commission.

2003 — Visiting Professor University of Ohio. Bishop Trevor Mwamba featured in Alexander McCall Smith’s publication 'The Full Cupboard of Life'.

2002 — Appointed Vicar General of the Diocese of Botswana.

1999 — Appointed Head of Legal and Compliance, Corporate Affairs, and Company Secretary of Standard Chartered Bank Botswana Limited.

1996 — 1999 Assistant Chaplain of Keble College, Oxford and Assistant priest of Wolvercote, Oxford.

1991 — Bishop Trevor Mwamba was created the first Provincial Canon of the Province by Episcopal Synod in 1991.

1987 —Bishop Trevor Mwamba was appointed General Secretary of the Church of the Province of Central Africa (The Anglican Church in Botswana, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe). He also served as personal assistant and Legal advisor to the then Archbishop of Central Africa, Dr. Khotso W. P. Makhulu.

1985 — Priested at Ndola, Zambia and appointed Rector of Luanshya.

1984 — Ordained at Saint Luke’s Chelsea in London and served curacy in the Parish of All Saints, Notting Hill.

Bishop Mwamba sits on numerous boards such as Transparency International (Botswana), and the Botswana Human Rights Centre (Ditshwanelo). He has also drafted constitutions for the Botswana Council of Churches and Young Women’s Christian Fellowship.
